A graduate from the National College of Art and Design, Christine Hughes is a young Irish designer living and working in Dublin.

A key focus for Christine Hughes Design is interior lighting. Christine brings innovation and flair to her work with a unique and specially devised ceramic material, developed and used exclusively by her, which works wonderfully when incorporated into her lighting designs.

Rock formations have inspired this material with their variety of surface textures and colours. Christine incorporates simple forms in her designs with her beautifully tactile clay in order to create pieces of true distinction.

The full range of designs is handcrafted and the entire process takes several days for each finished piece. Special commissions are created from scratch using a one off production of material and are available in a large range of natural colours. Each piece is single fired in a kiln up to 1260C.
